Comic Books

The EC comics of the 1950s are considered by some to be the finest comic books ever produced. This collection represents an attempt to assemble the nicest copies of every EC comic in existence, including a complete run of the "Gaines File Copy" comics, most of which are the finest graded by CGC. Also represented are exceptional runs of Eastern Color (founded by Bill Gaines' father Max Gaines) titles, such as Famous Funnies and Heroic comics, and a nice run of All Star Comics that I am striving to complete. The MAD comics and Magazines are part of the largest collection of MAD merchandise ever to be amassed by a single person. To assemble this collection, I purchased several great collections, including those of Grant Geissman, Jim McClane and Dick Hanchette, as well as the archives of Lou Silverstone. Warren Publications (James Warren) followed EC's (Bill Gaines) example by acquiring it's own stable of fine artists - including many former EC artists - and produced many exceptional titles, which are represented here, such as Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella. Our apologies that many images of these comics have not yet been posted. We are working on it!
